Growing up, he was inspired by the values of hard work didication instilled in him by his father, a financial planner. Personal Life
In 2011, Payton married the love of his life, Sami. Together, they have built a beautiful family, welcoming five children – four daughters and one son – into thier lives. The Nielsens cherish their time together, often found enjoying the sun and sand at Satellite Beach, Florida, where they reside. As devoted parents, they actively support their children’s various activities, instilling in them the same values of perseverance and compassion that guided Payton throughout his own life.
Professional Journey
Payton Launched his professinal career in 2015 when he joined Gateway Financial following in his fathers footsteps. His early experiences exposed him to the unique challenges faced by federal employees, particularly regarding their benefits and retirement planning. Recognizing a significant gap in accessible information and support from HR, Payton took the initiative to become an expert in federal benefits and retirement strategies.
With a deep commitment to helping others, Payton earned the nickname “The Fed Ben Pro.” He has dedicated his career to bridging the gap between federal employment and effective retirement planning. Through his tailored trainings, he empowers federal employees and agencies nationwide, including those in his local community of Brevard County, Florida, to navigate the complexities of their benefits and create a successful retirement plans.

Today, Payton continues to share knowledge and expertise through his own orginization, Apex Retirement Planning est. 2023, inviting both federal and non-federal employees seeking grassroots guidance in making wise financial decisions for their futures. His passion for helping others achieve their retirement dreams remains the cornerstone of his work, making a meaninful impact on the lives of those he serves.
